About AtmosBG

AtmosBG shows the forecast for every place in Bulgaria – all 5,267 towns and villages in the official EKATTE register, plus resorts and peaks.

Where the data comes from

• Open-Meteo – 16-day forecasts from ECMWF IFS, DWD ICON, NOAA GFS and Météo-France, air quality and pollen (Copernicus CAMS), marine data and the ERA5 climate archive.
• OpenWeather – map layers and backup forecast.
• RainViewer – precipitation radar images.
• MeteoAlarm / NIMH – official severe weather warnings.
• EMSC, USGS – earthquakes.
• BurgasMedia – news.

How often it updates

Forecasts refresh every 20 minutes, air quality and sea data hourly, warnings and earthquakes every 15 minutes.

How the indices are calculated

The health forecast considers the 24-hour pressure change, the temperature difference from the previous day, humidity and thunderstorms. It is indicative and does not replace medical advice. Activity scores combine feels-like temperature, rain, wind, clouds and soil conditions hour by hour.
